Join a Community that says “Welcome Home”

Welcome to the State University of New York College at Brockport! A beautiful campus in Upstate New York, Brockport is a nationally recognized and accredited public institution. We are one of the most engaged college campuses in the country offering the feel of a small community and the advantages of a large university.

Brockport is ranked among the “Best in the Northeast” by the Princeton Review and ranked among “America’s Best Colleges” by US News & World Report. We are committed to providing the best possible experience for our international students and equip each student with the knowledge and tools to create the college experience and future they desire.

Location

SUNY-Brockport is located about 15 miles outside of Rochester, NY - the state's third largest city. Rochester is know as the home of some companies like Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, and Paychex. With Brockport's small-town location and proximity to a bigger city, you get the best of both worlds. In addition, Brockport is within driving distance to Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Toronto. The Rochester airport connects you to major hubs, which allows you to discover all that the region (and beyond) has to offer.

Academics

While studying at Brockport, you will have opportunities to conduct original research, pursue scholarly and creative works, complete internships and participate in specialized academic programs. Some of our popular programs include:
Kinesiology Classroom

Broadcasting Classroom

Environmental Science

Costs

Below are the estimated costs for the exchange program per semester. Students nominated for exchange from their home institution will have tuition and fees waived.

Living on Campus

Student Housing

It is expected that exchange students live on campus for the duration of their program at Brockport. This allows you to take advantage of all that the College has to offer, including student activities, clubs, and more! It is recommended that exchange students choose one of the following:
Townhomes Eagle Hall (2-person suites)

Dining Services

Brockport’s Dining Services provides students with extraordinary food at six dining locations on campus. These locations include:
  • An all you can eat dining hall
  • The Student Union food court
  • Several cafés
  • A convenience store

Clubs and Athletics

We understand that learning extends beyond the classroom. That’s why we encourage students to take advantage of services and engage in our community through activities. We have 120+ clubs and organizations that fit almost any interest including Brockport Student Government, Women in Business, game club and so many more. Students can even start a club or organization.

You can stay or get fit at our award-winning Fitness Center. Take a group fitness class, work with a trainer, get instruction in first aid, or learn how to ice skate. In addition to academic clubs, we have club teams for a variety of sports including soccer, swimming, gymnastics and more.

Orientation

The International Student Services provides a week-long orientation upon arrival to help you with everything from setting up a bank account to familiarizing yourself with campus and the surrounding areas. Assisting our students as they assimilate to new classroom dynamics, language barriers, and American culture is our top priority. Additionally, the International Student Services office provides unique trips for international student throughout the semester to professional sporting events, landmarks such as Niagara Falls, and more!

Health Insurance

All international students with non-immigrant visa categories will be automatically enrolled and covered by SUNY's provider, United Health Care Insurance (which includes a Medical, Security & Natural Disaster Evacuation and Repatriation Program). For specific costs of this coverage, you can check the budget sheet (or program info tab) for either the Fall or Spring semester.

This health insurance provides medical coverage up to a certain standard and is necessary in case of illness, accidents or even just routine doctor's visits.
